Hyejong Hong is a managing partner at Makers IP Group. She has extensive experience across various aspects of patent law, including patent prosecution, portfolio management, litigation, pre-litigation analysis, and strategic counseling in the fields of pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and biotechnology.

As a registered patent attorney with over 17 years of experience, Hyejong Hong has represented both domestic and international clients in inter partes and ex parte proceedings before the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). She has also acted as lead or supporting counsel in numerous litigation cases before Korean courts, covering a wide range of technical areas such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, food products, and medical devices. With her extensive administrative experience at the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), combined with her deep expertise in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, food products, and medical devices, she is well-equipped to navigate complex IP issues and provide practical solutions across a wide range of industries.

Hyejong Hong is an active lecturer for researchers and industry IP professionals and serves as an adjunct professor at Seoul National University of Science and Technology.
